How to Mess Up a Boxed Cake Mix

I don't know how I do it, but somehow I managed to royally f@#k up a Betty Crocker store bought cake mix.  I told you I was seriously creatively challenged and I wasn't kidding (if you had any doubts before, I think you will believe me now).   Even my husband was like, "What in the hell is that?" when he saw the finished product.  It's bad.  REALLY bad.  I make the people on Cake Wrecks look like seasoned professionals.  If you haven't checked out this website, you should because it's hilarious!  http://www.cakewrecks.com/

As you can see my poor cake was f@#ked from the beginning, lol!

But I didn't stop there. It just kept getting worse…..

Just when you think it can't possibly turn into anymore of a train wreck, I add sprinkles. I can't even do that right as the majority of them are clumped in the middle…sigh.

This is why I blog and don't bake.   I don't think cake decorating is in my future.   Oh and in case you're wondering we're buying a cake for our daughter's birthday party next weekend.

  1. You have it all wrong. I bake to relieve stress, blog to vent, and take crappy pictures with my crappy camera so no one can tell which one stinks, the baked goods or the picture. Take it from me: Baking poorly isn't the problem, it's that your picture of your poor baking is too clear. BTW, I figured if I'm going to be here this often I should join your blog as a follower, so I did!

    1. Do you think she says "Take it from me: Baking poorly isn't the problem, it's that your picture of your poor baking is too clear." just to mess with you?? LOL.

  2. I'm chortling, yes, yes I am....sorry? Did you, by chance, remember to grease and flour the pan? Oh, and if you stick it in the freezer for an hour or so before frosting it really works a lot better.

    Okay, shutting up now. =)

    1. I Crisco-ed that sucker up! LOL! I have no idea why it turned into the train wreck that it did but that's the story of my life when it comes to anything domestic, lol!

  4. OMG I am so laughing at this! Usually you can hide just about anything with a nice helping of frosting to smooth it all out ... but in this case? It all tastes the same - no matter how it looks. And no one can doubt that it was homemade :D

  10. Looks better than the cakes I've made from a box. I buy store bought and pass it off as my own :)

  11. Hehehe, I hate baking cakes because I have had one come out like this before. Frosting can't hide certain things!
